Matte Series

The Matte Series was developed as an alternative to the Original Series. The concept behind the Matte Series was to develop a putter with limited non-reflective surfaces. We incorporated this concept into a new satin shaft with the help of True Temper, which compliments the non-reflective matte finish head. The Matte Series heads are cast from the same soft stainless steel material used in the Original Series. The exterior matted finish is applied in production. The surfaces are CNC milled to uphold the strict specifications found in every Heavy Putter. The putter also has a new custom Winn Grip. The Matte Series is comprised of 6 models – a blade ("A") or mallet ("B") each available in either center shaft ("1"), full offset hosel ("2"), or double bend ("3").

About the Heavy Putter
The objective of our R&D was to find the exact head weight and counter-weight which would automatically engage the larger, more stable muscles, while allowing the golfer to retain control of the putt. The result was a 900 gram putter, comprised of a 475 gram head, and a back-weight inserted in the grip end of the shaft weighing 250 grams (the patented weight management system, or WMS). Through our testing, this weight was found to be the ideal weight at which the body fires the shoulders and arms, disengaging the hands and wrists. Moreover, the distribution of the weight at both ends of the club actually raised the balance point by 75% from that of a conventional putter, allowing the golfer to maintain complete control. The tip weight kit (included with purchase) includes two aluminum weights weighing 10 grams each, and two copper tungsten weights weigh 35 grams each. By installing the aluminum or copper tungsten weights, the head weight is increased or decreased by 25 grams – up to 500 grams or down to 450 grams. By adjusting the head weight, the balance point can be raised or lowered to adjust to each golfers particular grip pressure and stroke characteristic.
